Roles and Responsibilities

WWF India works at the local, national and global levels in partnership with civil society organisations, government agencies, national and international research and policy institutes, the private sector and the WWF network towards environmental conservation and sustainable development. The Sustainable Agriculture programme, one of the core programmes of WWF India, aims to address sustainability issues associated with agricultural production systems in India, focusing on crops that are associated with high water footprint, input intensive agriculture practices and impacts on high priority biodiversity areas and ecosystems. This is addressed through multiple approaches including working at the field and policy levels to promote sustainable agriculture practices, using innovative tools and technologies to reduce the footprint of agriculture production, promoting sustainability standards and working across national and global supply chains.

Job Profile:

Research and analysis:

  • Undertaking research needed for developing new projects
  • Working with the M&E team to support monitoring and impact studies
  • Staying abreast of the new areas in context of innovation, technology and game changing approaches in the field of sustainable agriculture, particularly in relation to topics like climate smart agriculture, de-carbonization, circularity, artificial intelligence, and new technology.
  • Analyzing field data and developing strategies and management actions based on this

Project Development and Management

  • Supporting management of key projects in the SAP
  • Assisting in the application of procedures, guidelines and systems to improve the management and oversight of on-going and future projects
  • Collaborating with internal WWF teams on relevant thematic areas/projects cutting across programme areas


  • Drafting technical content (reports, studies, technical papers) for the SAP programme
  • Contributing to op-eds and articles on thematic areas relevant to the SAP programme for the mainstream and sector specific media

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • MBA in Agribusiness/Sustainability Ivy league, IRMA, MANAGE, and Premier Institute (IIM-A)
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in Commodity Sustainability
