Roles and Responsibilities

WWF-India is one of the largest organizations in wildlife and nature conservation, and is looking for incumbents to be a part of the team of TRAFFIC India.

The position involves managing the wildlife sniffer dog training programme of TRAFFIC India and assisting with communication related projects especially those involved with making films, and graphic designing.

Job Profile:

  • Coordinate the wildlife sniffer dog training programme of TRAFFIC India.
  • Liaison with the forest department, training centers, dog kennels and others for organizing training of wildlife sniffer dog squad.
  • Monitor the use of wildlife sniffer dog squads in the field through liaison with the forest department and the dog handlers.
  • Report regular updates about the achievement of the wildlife sniffer dogs.

2. Communication and Outreach

  • Prepare short films on species in illegal wildlife trade and various programmes of TRAFFIC India.
  • Prepare infographics, visuals, collaterals for outreach on websites and social media.
  • Support Senior Manager-Communication in basic research for identification tools, factsheets, reports, and other outreach related projects as required.
  • Under instructions of Senior Manager-Communications, coordinate with national and international offices of TRAFFIC and WWF networks for related projects.

3. Assist in writing proposals that will help raise funds for the various TRAFFIC programmes.

4. Assist in any other programmes as instructed by Head, TRAFFIC.

Desired Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Graduate in the field of wildlife conservation or communication including designing or likewise courses. Masters or specialization in the similar field will be given advantage
  • At least 2 years of work experience preferred.
  • Proven knowledge and skills in undertaking video editing work.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills.
  • Proficiency in graphic designing and softwares like Coral Draw, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and others.
